| What size is your fountain & why is it different from the others? Our largest fountain is 5 tiers & towers to a height of 44inches. Then we also have a 34inch fountain as well. The fountains we provide are the largest ones manufactured to date. There are very few, if any fountains the size of ours- and we guarantee that if there are they are not priced as well as ours. Some places advertise small, medium & large. This means that their fountains more than likely range from 19" to 35" in height. Asking is always your best bet. We also have a 19inch fountain that you may choose to reserve in addition to the 34 & 44 inch. The two of them together are spectacular! What kind of chocolate do you use? We use only the finest Belgian chocolates in our fountains (Milk, Dark, F.O.G. Special Blend Or White). This means there are no oils added to our chocolate that will take away from the rich, decadent, silky look, flavor or aroma! How do you melt your chocolate? At Food of the Gods we believe in doing things the right way. We arrive 90 minutes before your event starts to slow melt our chocolate in the fountain itself. This means that you are not losing any of your chocolate by transferring it from bowl to basin. Other places melt theirs in the microwave or a crock pot or even on the stove. All of which can lead to a burnt or scorched taste to the chocolate. Do you provide dipping items or do we? We provide the most delectable dipping items in the area. Our specialty dippers are homemade the day of your event & they are GREAT. But please know that you are more than welcome to provide them yourself or have your caterer bring them. You may obtain a complete list of our dipping items along with prices once you have reserved a fountain. Please take a look at our dipping items page on this website to see just a few of our items. How many guests does the fountain serve? That is a good question. And really, it varies. You know your guests better than we do, therefore it may be easier for you to determine that. As a rule, the 20 pounds of chocolate that is included in your rental will feed 175 to 225 guests. However, we have had events of 150 people where we ran out of chocolate & events with 400 people where we have just enough. It varies a great deal. What can be dipped in the Chocolate Fountain? The beauty of the Chocolate Fountain is that you can dip ANYTHING in it. All we ask is that you get your list of dipping items approved at least one week before your event (preferably sooner). See our "dipping items" page on this website. What are the set up requirements? We must be able to arrive 90 minutes prior to your event. The only other requirements are a sturdy table & electricity. What do I have to provide? Another perk to choosing Food of the Gods is that you don't have to provide anything..........that's right NOTHING! We are a full service company. We give you the choice of providing everything yourself (dipping items, linens, serving trays, decorations, napkins, plates, etc) or we will be more than happy to take care of all of that for you! If you would like, when you rent our fountain you do nothing- we take care of it all. Do we have to clean up? Once again, you do nothing! We deliver, set up, maintain, clean up, tear down & remove the fountain(s) for you. We also build your dipping items into a beautiful display regardless of who provides them. What more could you ask for? When should we run the fountain? It is your decision as to when the fountain will run. We highly recommend that the fountain begin running when your event starts. From prior experience we feel that your event will run more smoothly if you begin when your guest start to arrive. Not only does this allow your guests the beautiful view & aroma of cascading chocolate when they enter, but it will also preserve the formality of your event. We do not want to haul our equipment through your event while your guests are arriving. It tends to be disruptive & very unprofessional. We try to avoid this at all costs. Again, we suggest that if your event begins at 6:30pm that the fountain run from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. If you would like for it to run longer we would be happy to do so for an additional fee. NO WAY! Our fountains are great for any occasion or event.
